In a fast paced world it is always important to strive to get your business ahead of the competition, and this has been furthered with the growing economic crisis that is being faced in all of the major business centres. With a limited amount of customers, and an abundance of suppliers and serviced providers without work, it is essential for your business to stand out. Many people see websites as being so expensive as to be cost prohibitive, but for a simple html website, fully customised to your requirements, it is still likely to cost less than advertisements in trade directories!
The improved business image and reputability that comes from having a website is incredible, and simple things like having personalised email addresses make all the difference! Who really wants to deal with a business where the primary email address is johnsmith@hotmail.com!!
MB Graphix can produce, arrange hosting, register your domain, set up email accounts and design unique media for it all without breaking the bank. Once the site is built, unlikely many other web designers I wont overcharge you for hosting, with packages starting from just £16 per year, there has never been a cheaper time to get a website up and running. And if you want to make any updates, then these can be done on a totally ad-hoc basis. Alternatively you can take the site that I make, and perform the updates yourself, as they are made in such a way that only a very limited knowledge of web editing is needed after the first set-up.
How can I offer sites so much cheaper than competitors? I produce sites by using CSS templates, these are available free from many sources, but will generally need tailoring and modifying to better meet your specific requirements, an to match company colour schemes etc. By starting with a template, and then importing other elements such as photo gallery scripts, calendars and menu systems, you have a site that is as unique as your business.
What other benefits are there from having MB Graphix build my site? The experience gained from building sites is invaluable, and from knowing what customers want from their site I can help you to get a site that you are happy with straight away! I will create analytical accounts for you so that you can see how many visitors you get, how they find your site, and where they are from, this will allow you to tailor your marketing strategies to meet the customer base you have!
How much will a basic site cost? This of course depends on what you want in your site, and how much work is required to produce it. It will also be affected by the availability of the content, if you supply all the content you want on it (photos, text etc.) then the design process is obviously much faster, and therefore cheaper. A reasonable estimate, is that if you can find a template from the 1000s that I will link you to, that you are happy with, supply all the required content, and do not require anything too complex, then it could be less than £150.
What about if I want to sell items/ have a specialist site? This is not within the general work that I perform, I have chosen to focus on providing a low cost, efficient service for small businesses, organisations, and others who want to break into the world of web technology. I can however give you the contact information to other designers who specialise in CMS (content managed systems) which allow for this type of site, LogicRed Webdesign is one such company, who are very well respected, and offer a service that is second to none!

UEA Poker Society
I have built two sites for the UEA Poker Society to provide an effective platform for sharing information with members. The current version of the site features side bar advertisment space and contact sections in addition to links to their forum and facebook pages. At the top is a simple scripted menu system providing easy navigation to their pages.
A 'lightbox' script has been used to make an attractive and effective photo gallery, and a Google calendar has been incorporated into an events page to allow members to get automated notifications of upcoming activities.
This site provides a good example of how a simple design can be an effective source of revenue, with ad space and affiliate schemes being used to generate an income.

Lyndon Property Group

This website was built to provide a new platform to advertise commercial property developments, and to allow the company to gain a greater world-wide reputability.
In the styling I have used the corporate colours, and have kept general graphical elements to a minimum, to provide a more stream-lined professional look to the pages. The image galleries provide an easily update-able platform for sharing pictures from the current developments and projects. I have also implemented the use of a side bar, to allow the contact details to be easily available, and to ensure that potential business associates are not put off by having to search for the information they need.
NB: Following major group resructuring, Lyndon have recently redesigned their site, if you are interested in seeing the version I created, please email me for an archived version.
